Track and forecast costs

Use the CloudBooster Cost Explorer to view daily spend, service breakdowns, and cost forecasts across your connected AWS accounts.

Track and forecast costs

The Cost Explorer gives you a single view of cloud spend across all your connected AWS accounts. You can slice costs by time range, project, environment, provider, or account profile — and (on higher plans) see service-level breakdowns and forward-looking forecasts.

Before you begin

  • You need at least one AWS account connected and at least one deployment run completed.
  • Cost data syncs automatically after your first deployment. It may take up to 24 hours for data to appear.

Open the Cost Explorer

Navigate to your Organisation → Cost Explorer. Cost data is aggregated at the organisation level because a single AWS account can span multiple projects.

Choose a time range

Select a preset or define a custom date range:

PresetPeriod
Last 7 daysRolling 7-day window ending yesterday
Last 30 daysRolling 30-day window ending yesterday
This monthFirst of the current month to yesterday
Last monthFull previous calendar month
Last 3 monthsRolling 90-day window ending yesterday
This yearJanuary 1 to yesterday
CustomAny start and end date you choose

Cost data is historical — it reflects completed days only. Today's spend is not available until tomorrow.

Click Refresh to reload data after changing the date range or any filter.

Filter the data

Use the Filters panel to narrow the view:

  • Project — limit costs to one of your CloudBooster projects.
  • Environment — once a project is selected, narrow further to a specific environment (development, staging, or production).
  • Providers — toggle AWS, GCP, or Azure independently (shown only for providers you have connected).
  • Profiles — select one or more cloud profiles (AWS accounts). All linked profiles are selected by default.

Read the Cost Summary

The Cost Summary card shows your total spend for the selected period and a daily bar chart stacked by provider.

Hover any bar to see the exact daily total broken down by AWS, GCP, and Azure.

Cost breakdown by service

Service-level breakdown is available on the Starter plan and above. On the free tier, this section is shown locked with a link to the pricing page.

The Cost Breakdown by Service section lists each AWS service that contributed to your bill for the selected period — for example, EC2, RDS, S3, and Data Transfer — sorted by cost descending.

Cost forecast

Forecasting is available on the Growth plan and above.

The Cost Forecast section shows a projected spend for the selected period based on your historical usage patterns. It includes:

  • A total forecasted amount for the period.
  • A daily forecast chart (area chart, stacked by provider) showing how spend is expected to evolve.

If forecasting is unavailable — either due to your plan or because not enough historical data exists — a message explains why.
